I'm a Vibe Coding Fool!
I'm addicted to vibe coding. Not familiar with the term? Fittingly, let's have AI explain it:
"Vibe coding" is a software development approach where users guide AI assistants (like Claude, Cursor, or ChatGPT) to generate, refine, and debug applications through natural language prompts, rather than writing code line-by-line. Coined in early 2025, this method prioritizes high-level intent over manual syntax, allowing for rapid, conversational, and accessible app creation.
In a short amount of time, I have created 10 working apps. There are a few games, and several sound and graphics utilities. My first app, One Good Thing Today, is a website that I wish would catch on. I feel like it would be a great place for some positivity.
Many of the apps have already seen multiple updates in their short lives, including the addition of sound effects and some tweaking to make them more enjoyable. Here's a rundown:
- My latest game is a mashup of the old memory games and hot-or-cold, fittingly called Hot-or-Cold Memory.
- Games Suit Four and Catch Blackjack have seen the addition of sound effects. Also, game mechanics for Catch Blackjack have been tweaked to improve playability.
- The latest sound utility, Wind Chimes, introduced me to a cool feature that I carried over to Strum Button. Both now feature an Auto toggle creating the effect of a relaxing "noise machine". Chords on Strum Button were revised to be less random and more harmonic.
- Sound effects have been added to Splat Therapy.
- An Auto mode was also added to Color Field Generator, and the already minimalist buttons on the screen now auto-hide for maximum viewing pleasure. I attempted to add a gentle humming sound as an option but have yet to succeed with that.
- Tone Generator and Quick Click Art have seen no recent updates.
